@Tommy_CZ
I have 1GB of swap.
I have never used hibernation. I'm pretty sure my problem with 2.6.32-22 kernel is related to what I have mentioned before, I have not major problems since I modified the swappiness.

Anyway I'm testing the 2.6.34-020634 kernel with swappiness=60 and seems
to manage better RAM and Swap usage, and till now I had no problems
suspending to RAM in five attempts.

By the way, to install the mainstream Kernel, go to the folder "v2.6.34-lucid/" and download the packages in a folder "linux-headers(all)", "linux-headers(for your system architecture)" and "linux-image(for your system architecture)" (they are 3 packages). Then enter to the download folder, open terminal and run "sudo dpkg -i *.deb". At the end of installation, restart your computer and enter from the new Kernel in Grub.
If it runs worse with the new kernel, to uninstall simply search for "2.6.34" in your package manager and uninstall the three packages.
