Same problem here. After upgrading from Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx I
ended up with two kernels in my boot loader:

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, kernel 2.6.32-22-generic
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, kernel 2.6.31-19-generic

The kernel 2.6.32-22-generic does not boot. I see a black screen after I
select it and the computer hangs there.

The kernel 2.6.31-19-generic works well.
