Public bug reported:

This started happening when scrolling a page in Firefox. I was using
Compiz at the time, but I switched to Metacity after the problem started
happening and that didn't help. I'm now using Chromium, and it doesn't
seem to cause the problem.

I'm using a Maverick and I updated just a few hours ago. Dpkg has been
having problems configuring the recent kernels because of a bug in
nvidia-common, but the kernels still seem to work ok.
