Likely this is an upstream issue that wont get resolved without some
specific DSDT or interrupt hackery targeted to this feature.....

Since this is currently the only(?) way to make use of the discrete
nvidia gfx card on these machines, it would be nice to figure out what
it is that causes the graphics output to switch, so it can be done at
runtime, preferably without degrading disk performance
