[Bug 592745] [NEW] kernel panic - kernel stack corrupted

Public bug reported:

intermittent kernel panic that can be reliably triggered by running
powertop on my lenovo thinkpad t410.  syslog gives this error before
crash:

 kernel panic - not syncing: stack protector: kernel stack is corrupted
in ffffffff814760bd

this is my third time trying to report this bug in launchpad so i'll
stop here!  would love some help, please let me know what i can do to
help with the diagnosis.
