It seems impossible to run apport-collect without X and firefox. I can
boot the new vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic in recovery mode, but nothing
else. As soon as i run "startx" the screen goes black, the harddrive
goes silent and the computer seems entirely dead.

In recovery mode, running the vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic, I have been
able to do dmesg and lspci -vvv. I hope these help.

Running vmlinuz-2.6.32-19-generic still works without problems.
