[Bug 591174] [NEW] Copying files to usb stick slows down to a crawl progressively

Public bug reported:

Copying 1gig of data starts fast at 12MB/sec but after 200MB have been
copied is starts to slow down. It report 2MB/sec but it is also very
stop start in nature, takes ages to finish the copy. This is repeatable
as it happens the same every time. The device is labeled as a Disgo 4gig
usb stick and is formatted ntfs although same happens with ext4. I'm
installing the mainline kernel mainline/v2.6.35-rc1 to see if any
different. Will report back
