Installed http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.34-lucid/
for touchpad to work on multitap (horizontal scroll) and FN+F9. I didn't
try the grub workaround, I feel there is a drawback to it (maybe its
just me).

Screen flicker shows up once or twice when fresh from boot, but after
that it won't happen for some hours.
