The correct line mentioned in comment 14 is:
iwconfig wlan0 power off

I'm running Lucid Beta and my wlan connection is periodically lost. For
the two first times it happened after about 1h but on the third time it
happenend after 30 mins. On the fourth time it happened after 10 mins.
The problem doesn't come from the router since the other pcs can connect
to it normally. My wlan card is Asus wl-167g (usb with rt2500 kernel
driver). Here are some dmesg logs (all for different boots):
