this is still an issue for me with lucid on a macbook 4,1.
(2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:28:05 UTC 2010 x86_64
GNU/Linux)

It happens within a few minutes to a few hours after boot, and the
system then becomes less responsive and resuming form suspend takes
several seconds longer.

What other information might be useful in nailing this?
