I wanted to test this issue with the daily build from 2010-06-02, but this build seems to be broken. After about 2 minutes I see the message
Begin: Setting up swap... ...
and then the system stops. According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MaverickReleaseSchedule Alpha 2 will be released on July 1st, so I suggest to wait until this date and try it again. Hopefully, Ubuntu isn't broken at this time any more so I can reliably check whether this bug was fixed.
