Hi Jeremy,
Sorry I never tested this.  I'm only on 8.04 (XUbuntu).  I suppose there's
no way to test this without upgrading all the way to 10?  The laptop runs
great with 8.04.  I used to have 9.10 and it was much slower.
Mind you, it's 12 years old.
