Appears to be also a problem from kernel update 32bit 2.6.32.22 to
2.6.32-24 !!?

Some more analysis:
1. I have a test installation of mythbuntu 64bit : When I boot this version on same machine the initrd is loaded but when boot process proceeds to mount rootfs it breaks with error message "/dev/disk/uuid..../ does not exist , droping to shell" - and a busybox console is opened - hence sata driver suddenly does not find same hard disk where same initrd is located.
2. Due to the problems I decided to switch to 32bit version of kubuntu 10.04 because recent 10.04 32bit LiveCD are booting without problems but after installation and since automatic update to kernel 2.6.32-24 during installation the same problem has occured. ;-(

The most important question for the experts: where are the differences
between kubuntu 10.04 32/6 bit and ubuntu 32/64 bit of recent LiveCD
kernels regarding the SATA driver !! Are there any ? Or maybe it is a
build process problem ??

** Summary changed:

- Since 10.04 64bit version SATA driver has strange effects on BIOS when Blu-Ray drive connected
+ Since 10.04 64bit version boot process breaks after initrd "disk not found"when Blu-Ray SATA drive is connected
