[Bug 610141] [NEW] Reboot gives black screen after BIOS loaded

Running Ubuntu 10.04 on my HP Pavilion dv7 latop
After requesting for a Restart via the Ubuntu menu, the system starts it's reboot process. BUT after BIOS is loaded I just get a black screen with a cursor. It is not possible to take any action using the keyboard. It takes a couple of restart cycles before the system boots normally.

Kernel Version: 2.6.32-24-generic

This seems to be related to bugs: 610126; 610200.
