Adding a /etc/modprobe.d/plusb.conf:

alias usb:v067Bp2501d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip* plusb
install plusb /sbin/modprobe plusb; echo "067b 2501" > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/plusb/new_id

has no effect either, this is with a slightly older chipset
