There are still issues with this bug.  I've had my Gateway LT3103u for
quite some time now, and haven't noticed, because the wireless works
fine.  I didn't really think to check it, as usually wired ethernet
there's no problem with.  I can confirm having this bug.  This should
really be fixed.

Wired is basically a necessity, as some wireless drivers require
additional software installation once Ubuntu is installed.

There is no activity on this bug as there is a workaround -- installing
RealTek's drivers.  But that doesn't  seem ideal by any means.
