I found the solution for the problem in zeitsofa's comment on http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/gdm-und-xdmcp/ (31/05/2010) 
after adding the following lines to /etc/gdm/custom.conf:

[xdmcp]
DisplaysPerHost=10
Enable=true
HonorIndirect=1
MaxPending=2
MaxSessions=10
Port=177
MaxWaitIndirect=30
MaxWait=30
MaxPendingIndirect=10

I could login to terminal client
