Public bug reported:

It happened while installing updates while running the system from USB.
I have 10. 04 installed in my hard disk and I am not getting any
problem. Now for my friends who do not have internet I am making a USB
startup disk with complete update and their required softwares. While
updating linux kernel it crashed. I choose to not install GRUB and do
not know whether it created probem or not
