When it was working, for me at least, the light in the button was blipping between blue and orange as a sign of network activity, but the same "light-button" for wifi on/off function doesn't do anything. I think there is a hardware bug in either the button or the AR5007 wifi adapter, since there are similar problems with the wifi card and connection issues with HP's own software for this wifi card. It is reported in the meta bug number 461419.
Until that bug has been rectified, I cannot use my wireless card, so this bug report is pretty much dependant on the fixing of bug 461419, but I will update this as soon as I can fully retest this (i.e. when the other bug is resolved).
