[Bug 605519] [NEW] Regression (2.6.32-24): sound card not recognized

Public bug reported:

this is a regression from linux-image-2.6.32-21-generic.  When I boot
2.6.32-21, my sound card is recognized by the computer (aplay -l lists
devices, etc.).  When I boot 2.6.32-24, no sound card is recognized
(though the modules are loaded).  I'm available to attach any
information from the 2.6.32-21 system as well.
