You have been subscribed to a public bug:

1)Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
Using lucid for server 64-bit(amd64)
2) Don't know if it's the kernel or the logger of even a h/w bug. Using "linux-image-2.6.32-23-server 2.6.32-23.37"
3) When I connect a microsoft keyboard via USB, dmesg gives:

[ 1788.322311] input: Microsoft Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/input/input41
[ 1788.322398] generic-usb 0003:045E:00CB.0005: input,hidraw2: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [Microsoft Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0 ] on usb-0000:00:1a.0-1/input0

But the log file has:

2010-07-01_13:13:40.99981 kern.info: [ 1688.698673] inpu: Mcoot iof ai
pia os 2. a dvie/c0000/0001./s3313:10ip/nu39<> 68.86]gercub00:4E0C.03

eitrdnwitrae rvrubhd<> 68688]ubi:v.:S I oedie

I've tried both rsyslog and socklog and both have the same problem. So
I'm leaning towards the kernel or something, but not the logger as the
source of this probem.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
