Ok, here is the good news:
Finally I tested ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386 and it seems like the problem disappeared.
I suspended and resumed about 20 times and 2x10 times without intermediate shutdown successfully.
Remaining bugs are #511232 and #231562.
