I have the same problem, when I power it off, sometimes it'll appare the
same error: iwlagn xxx,  Error: Response NULL in 'REPLY_ADD_STA'.

So I try to disable the wlan connection before I powering it off, with the command like this:
  sudo ifconfig wlan0 down
or
  sudo /etc/init.d/networking stop
 
Fortunately, It seems very useful with my system.
