Public bug reported:

We create ISO images to distribute device drivers for Linux, MacOS and
Windows, and we use a hybrid image containing ISO9660/RockRidge,
ISO9660/Joliet and HFS filesystems. On Ubuntu 9.10 these images do not
mount automatically, but needs to be mounted manually (and the
filesystem specified, i.e. the kernel can not automatically determine
what file system the image contains):

$ sudo mount /dev/sr1 /mnt
mount: block device /dev/sr1 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
tom at tom-laptop:/media/Home/code/software/development/cd0_e300.br/iso_image/build$ ls /mnt
tom at tom-laptop:/media/Home/code/software/development/cd0_e300.br/iso_image/build$ sudo mount /dev/sr1 -t iso9660 /mnt
mount: block device /dev/sr1 is write-protected, mounting read-only

dmesg output:

We have tried generating the images with the latest versions of genisoimage or GNU mkisofs with the same results.
On earlier versions of Ubuntu, these images work fine.
The command line used to create the image is:
