I'm using Karmic on a Dell Studio 1555 and this is my uname -a result:

Linux studio 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 17:01:44 UTC
2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

And I have that problem, the keys works for a while and then they stop
working. Also when I close the lid the screen keeps turned on even when
in the energy management I chose to "darken the screen" (sorry I'm using
Ubuntu in spanish so I don't know the exact name).

The system is completely updated. Where should I look?
