There is a workaround for this 'side effect' of the 'lax' workaround...

"blacklist the unnecessary(?) k8temp module" - that seems to have the
effect of 'stabilising' the flip flopping of the it87 vs atk0110 hwmon#
references. Works in  2.6.31-17-server x64 kernel.
