Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: initramfs-tools
In lucid, resuming from hibernation is not attempted at all. It just
boots normally, and later on the boot process fscks the unclean root fs
and re-mkswaps the swap partition (it sees the hibernate signature on
it, which is useless at that point).
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-premount/resume exists, and
it's also in the initramfs:
$ zcat /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-10-generic |cpio -t|grep resume
conf/conf.d/resume
scripts/local-premount/resume
bin/resume
Perhaps /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-premount/resume also
makes invalid assumptions which aren't true any more with the new
initramfs?
