Slightly off-topic, but you could simply do "sudo service vboxdrv setup" 
or "sudo invoke-rc.d vboxdrv setup" to recompile the VBox drivers 
after updating the kernel.
This works unless the kernel API is changed drastically.

I use it all the time.
