Joan, sorry to hear about the problems you are having.  But everybody,
please let's not pollute this ticket with off-topic remarks.  This has
nothing to do with BIOS updates, earlier versions of the kernel were
running fine.  This ticket is about tracking down and fixing a
regression in the kernel.
