why do you guys think that having this driver built in will save boot time? 
the driver can be loaded in very short time:
root at ubuntu-laptop:~# time modprobe galcore

real    0m0.049s
user    0m0.020s
sys     0m0.010s


also, I see in the git that you reverted the patch the makes this driver static.
