Public bug reported:

On pentium 3 933Mhz, 788 MB of RAM, fresh xubuntu_10.04 32b installed
(and updated).

Copying 50GB from usb disk ext3, to local ext4 partition :
* cp -a works flawlessly
* rsync -aux hangs the system and nned hard reboot (4s on power button)

100% reproducible
