You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I have a SYBA SD-LP-MCS1P Low Profile PCI Single DB25 Printer Card with Moschip MCS9805 running on Lucid Lynx 10.04.
This card worked fine on 8.04 for years and now doesn't work. Here is my situation.
I have two parallel port printers on the first parallel port(lp0), I
have a Star Micronics receipt printer. On the PCI parallel port card, I
have a Zebra DA402 label printer. This setup worked fine for years, but
now, after switching to 10.04 and setting up the DA402, nothing happens.
When I add the printer, it is recognized fully and the system searches
for a driver(which it doesn't find). After the search, I set it up as a
raw queue, which I have used for years. It is listed as an available
printer and when I try to print to it, nothing happens. Nothing at all.
The data that is sent to the printer just disappears into the ether.
The Star Micronics printer on lp0 works just fine.
Now, if I switch printers and change the DA402 from lp1 to lp0, it
works fine.
I would like to file a bug report, but I must admit that I don't know
what package I should list this under. If anyone know of a fix for this
problem, PLEASE let me know. This is my register computer at my
business and having to swap printer cables back and forth is a crappy
"solution".
Thanks,
RMFlagg
