[Bug 625966] [NEW] touchpad only recognized sometimes on startup

Public bug reported:

I am using a Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop with a synaptics touchpad running
ubuntu 10.04.

Bug: On seemingly random occasion the touchpad does not get recognized
and will not work at all on startup. Cursor movement and buttons will
not work, other times it will work fine.

I am fairly new to linux so I don't know what info to post here to help
anyone tracking down what might be the problem, but I will provide
whatever is needed and asked for.
