** Description changed:
- This is a bug to follow up on a question[1] on why, after three releases
- and one alpha, an Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 800MHz is still
- running at 571Mhz and is not doing proper cpu stepping when needed. I
- have tested this in Gutsy, Hardy and Intrepid, and now in Jaunty Alpha
- 3. They all treat the CPU as 571Mhz. In Gutsy there was a workaround
- using a script by a user named "ricey". I do not want to rely on user
- scripts and I would think that by now this issue would be resolved. Is
- there a possibility we can try to resolve this issue for the Jaunty
- release.
+ The Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 800MHz in the Asus eeePC 701 2G Surf
+ is still running at 571Mhz and is not doing cpu scaling.
- Hardware is a Asus eeePC 701 2G Surf
+ This has been tested in Gutsy, Hardy, Intrepid, Jaunty, Karmic, Lucid
+ and now in Maverick Alpha 3. The kernels in these releases all run the
+ CPU as 571Mhz.
