update: after manually using sudo apt-get -f install/update/upgrade and
finally a restart then the system is up and running fine again.
just a thought... I'm not good at programming, only to use and figure
out how to use applications someone else made so here's my out-of-the-
blue-thought: What can be done/can anything be done, so update manager
or synaptic rechecks downloaded packages? In a way like ktorrent can
check for corrupted packages, automatically discard them and redownload
them again before finishing is what I'm thinking about. Also, in this
case of error report, it was easy for me to run those commands mentioned
before to get the system up and running smooth again, but when I think
of almost everyone I know, who can't those commands cause windows is the
number one, will be frightened and go back to windows IF they find out
they'll try linux for a little bit. I've been using ubuntu as my main OS
since 2008. First time i tried ubuntu was 6.04, but I got problems fast
and find out the best solution was to go back to windows. Luckily I gave
ubuntu a new chance 2 years after, but how many users who don't give
operation systems a second chance, looses linux let's say in a year of
time? And that's sad I think. Just my thoughts about this.
Have a nice day!
