Hi Dennis, thanks for the additional feedback.

If I can't get the microscope working under Ubuntu, I have promised to
give it to one of my  sons. He is forced to pay MS tax because of the
work he does! (He's hoping I don't and that should give me the
challenge/incentive I need LOL)

I'll let you know either way.
