Hi,
I can confirm that this issue is also happening in Ubuntu desktop 10.04 on my Toshiba Satellite M40X-286.

This is a clean install.  It does not happen often, still need to check the percentage.
It happens after suspend, so when I open up the laptop again instead of getting the login screen it stays black
and mouse keyboard and touchpad don't work. Need to power off by holding power button.

Is this Bug ID still active by the way or do i need to look at another Bug ID for information? 
I can provide more info if some one would like this.
