You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I have yet to find a combination that works, I've tried all the usual
stuff
fb=false vga=788
video=vga16:off
noacpi
and erasing the "quiet splash"
none of it worked.
-----------------------
when I boot the Ubuntu 10.4 (Lucid) Desktop Live CD
I can get it to display the menu. But if I choose either run without installing, or even if I choose to install
it always grinds away for awhile and then freezes.
I suspect it freezes at startx but not certain.
However what I can tell you is that Ubuntu 8.04 and 9.10 run just fine on this laptop.
In fact I just finished installing 9.10 and am using it to enter this bug report, it's working great.
