I can confirm this bug on my Ubuntu Lucid machine. I have an AGP version
of the Radeon 9800:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc R350 AH
[Radeon 9800] [1002:4148]

If I disable KMS via nomodeset it just works fine. I tried both the current lucid kernel and the 2.6.35-15.21~lucid1 kernel. Also the video=1440x900 at 60 setting didn't help very much.
