You have been subscribed to a public bug:

using an asus p5ql-em motherboard, upon resume from suspend in ubuntu jaunty x86 the shutdown dialog flashes/strobes and constantly steals focus. Its a very weird bug and the only way i have been able to solve it is forcibly kill hald-addon-input
exact details of kill:
hald-addon-input: Listening on /dev/input/event1 /dev/input/event0 /dev/input/event3 /dev/input/event4 /dev/input/event7
something is getting stuck on resume. from what i can remember this was a problem in hardy and intrepid also which was one of the reasons i upgraded from LTS.

steps to repeat:
using aforementioned hardware enter suspend using gnome power manager.
resume from suspend and unlock screen.
this is also present in hibernate too.

detailed hardware spec:
ubuntu jaunty x86
Q6600 2.4ghz
asus p5ql-em micro atx motherboard
nvidia 7600GT 256mb
various plugged in devices:
usb bluetooth adaptor
logitech webcam
usb keyboard and mouse

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Incomplete
