[Bug 292235] [NEW] Ubuntu recognizes IDE disk as SCSI

I think, it was Feisty, when I last saw my IDE disk mapped as "hda".
Now, it is mapped as "sdb", after my first SCSI disk (the only SCSI disk, I have).
The Ubuntu installer says, it is "SCSI3", although I have only two HDDs in my PC.

However, GRUB recognizes both disks fine (still the same way) - IDE as (hd0) and SCSI as (hd1).
I installed Ubuntu on the IDE disk, and after successful installation, I had to edit the menu.lst, becouse there was line "root (hd1,4)", but GRUB mapped the IDE disk well, on (hd0) - so I always got an error.

Now with Intrepid, the "uuid" command is used instead. But the IDE disk
is still mapped badly (to sdb, although it should be hda).

I have VIA VT8237 southbridge.
