I believe I have isolated this to an issue with the vga chipset on the
Inspiron 600m. lspci tells me that the culprit is: 01:00.0 VGA
compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250 [Mobility
FireGL 9000] (rev 02). Unfortunately, I can't unload the radeon module
and see if suspend works when I do that (maybe if I put the machine into
runlevel 1???).
I've used the rtc to capture info when the machine wakes up.
#sudo sh -c "sync; echo 1>/sys/power/pm_trace; pm-suspend"
My laptop will go into a suspend state but will not come up when I hit
the power button. The disk light goes from blinking to being fully lit
and I can hear the disk spin up, but the screen stays blank. This makes
sense if it's an issue with the Radeon/VGA chip.
I have attached the output from dmsg and lspci to this but report.
Thanks,
Andrew
