  On a Dell Optiplex 980, with Realtek ALC269 chipset.
  
  Running the lucid release image, there is no sound being output in the
  external speaker jacks. The microphone seems to be capturing sound
  properly, but there is no way to play it back.
  
  === Current Workaround for Lucid ===
  
- 1) Install snd-hda-tools from https://launchpad.net/~diwic/+archive/ppa
- 2) Add these lines to /etc/rc.local:
-     hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x1b 0x701 0
-     hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x21 0x701 0
- 3) Reboot.

- You won't have jack-sensing (speakers mute when you plug headphone in), but at least playback should be working.
