After installing the regular updates - kernel : uname -a
Linux Ubuntu-Bernard 2.6.32-24-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 5 09:22:14 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux., I have this

The only way to get the network operating again is either to plug the
dongle out and plug it back again in or to restart the computer. Kernel
2.6.32-23-generic ran trouble-free or was it having good luck?
