I can confirm this still happens using 2.6.34 from the Mainline PPA
emilio at laptop:~$ uname -a
Linux laptop 2.6.34-999-generic #201004281008 SMP Wed Apr 28 09:10:12 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Rhythmbox says:
