Christian, I am glad your two computers are now working with the Huawei
E620, as mine no longer is. When it started working, I rebooted a few
times, left it off for an hour and rebooted and the E620 connected upon
boot each time, this was while I was at work. Upon arriving home, the
E620 was no longer recognised in network manager, although all the
settings were still under 'edit'. I have again resorted to the two .deb
packages to get the E620 to work. Can't understand why it worked
perfectly for a few hours and then stopped again. I have not installed
anything new, nor have I done any updates. This is very odd. I did check
d-bus modem manager and that is installed - so now I am again stuck. At
least the .deb packages allow internet access, even if it is a bit of a
hack (apologies to the writer of the .debs, but it is better for things
like this to work from the kernel, rather than scripts). I have thus re-
opened the bug and labelled it incomplete.
Hope Jeremy is still watching this report.
Jeremy, will the apport code you sent earlier, be useful if I have these
.debs installed? I assume not, in which case I need a command that will
save the output to .txt so that I can send it later, once I reinstall
the .debs and have internet connection again. But I must sleep now, I
work at night and have not slept for 21 hours. But I will follow any
suggestions that are forwarded once I wake up. Thanks for following up
on this - it's become a very strange bug with it working and then within
an hour not working for no apparent reason. Before I go to sleep I might
try the mainline kernel and report back.
