[Bug 570299] [NEW] [linux-image-2.6.32-21-generic] i855 won't display

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Regression from 2.6.32-19.  On this Gateway M275 convertible tablet
(i855 chipset & video), -21 will boot, but either at the point of
displaying the "Ubuntu" splash or just before, the screen will go black
and it's not possible to switch to a pty.  Magic SysRq key does not
appear to be functional either.

I can boot successfully into recovery mode, and X will come up if I have
it use a generic display configuration.

With -19 it works as expected.

I have all updates as of 2010-04-26 1239CDT installed.
