Hi again,

I downloaded ubuntu 10.04 rc (from distrowatch.com) and burned a CD using a
desktop Dell Dimension 3000 running Suse 10.1.

The live CD would not boot on the Dell 3000 but reported a loader error.

The same live CD on a Lenovo T400 was able to boot and as a live CD was able
to operate wireless ethernet interface. I used that same machine to make a
live USB.

This live USB was then uwsed to boot the Dell 910 Netbook. No success in
using the wireless interface on this netbook with the 10.04 rc. (It does
work with the original ubuntu 8.04). I have not been qable to do much with
this 10l.04 on the netbook without resorting to a wired connection. I tried
using the command apport-collect... but it then asked for launchpad access.
I did not remember a password. Needless to say. I did not succeed. I
tried to take a screen shot but that was not successful as I did not get to
save it.

Typing this email to you on the netbook is not much fun either!

It looks like the ubuntu 10.04 rc has promise on some machines but i am not
ready to switch the linux distro on this Netbook yet.

Cheers,
Ernie Bergmann
