[Bug 474380] Re: Laptop appears to suspend but on resume black screen

Greetings:

Interesting co-incidence.. I have just started the download of Ubuntu
10.04 Daily build 2010.04.19 live to test this.

Around Saturday the 17th my 10.04 Beta partition encountered an
upgrade to the Linux kernel 2.6.21.21 and since then have been having
to run in safe graphics mode. However, though initially flawed at
restoring the graphic map, closing the lid is now no longer dangerous
on my laptop. A few more updates and the restore now works perfectly.
However I'm having to run in safe mode and don't know if Compiz works.

I've reported the bug but just to make sure, I'm downloading the April
19th daily and after booting live, will install it to my test
partition.

Another issue which was fixed was the dock. I can now attach and
detach my dock without having to shut down the computer. Nice.

I'll get the full info to you folks on Saturday, but as for as this
bug, it tentatively looks like it was finally fixed. I'll know for
sure if it works outside of safe mode.

Thanks for the follow up Jeremy.
