Hi,
thanks for your interesst!
well, the reported bug appeared using WEP encryption with iwpriv.
I tried then to use WPA2 with the wpa_supplicant and this works fine now.
But maybe the bug has just been gone while updating karmic (with a newer 
kernel), I do not know excactly!
please close this bug. I will soon install lucid and open a new bug report if 
needed. thanks
